Recording & Mixing: Jungle ONE MIC drum

Microfonare  una batteria ( un po' jungle) non è mai stato così facile!!!!  UN MICROFONO!!! UNO SOLO!

Prendete un sm57 ponetelo tra la cassa ed il rullante (con la capsula che vede il battente della batteria) ed il gioco è fatto (o quasi).
Rimaniamo sempre stupiti dal fatto come possa essere interessante il suono in questa posizione (usata a dire il vero anche in multi mic setup).
La parte divertente arriva durante il mixing. Inserite un compressore (in serie) e cercate di ottenere un GAIN reduction di almeno 20 db (nel nostro caso fatto con il distressor che ha nella funzione NUKE ((rapporto oltre20:1)) una pasta clamorosa). Settaggi tipici possono essere quelli di attacco da 0.1 a 1ms ed un release da 50ms a 100ms (per lasciare un po' di respiro).

Miking a Drum (a little "jungle oriented") It has never been easier !!!! A MICROPHONE !!! JUST ONE MIC!!

Take an SM57  place it between the kick and the snare (with the capsule seeing the side of the beater as you can see in the video ) And The Game is Done (or almost!).
We are always amazed by the fact  how it sounds interesting  just one MIC for the drum set in this position .
The fun part comes when mixing. Inset a  compressor  and try to get a good amount of GAIN reduction (at least 20 db (In Our Case Made with Distressor That Function In NUKE ((ratio oltre20: 1)) A sensational pasta!!!. Typical settings with a general compressro  can be of attack from 0.1 to 1 ms and a  release 50ms to 100ms (to leave a bit 'of a breath).
